Brazil. The Amazon -the endless river and the setting sun. The river was full of aligators and at night we went out and saw their eyes against the water and it was brilliant.

South African bush. The second day -the day of the night-time that burnt down the hotel. That night, there were a dozen dead rats lying around and the dogs looked excited and unearthly, before the second fire was discovered and the story unfolded.

South African bush. This was the first night of the fire. These flames ate a few villages and animals; luckily no one died as a direct result.
The next night, it burnt down the hotel I was staying in at the time. One of the best nights of my life!

Jordan. We rode out to our campsite on camels after the cars broke down in this huge valley-desert. It was so vast and huge; we climbed up a part of one of the smooth cliffs and stared out over this endless maze and it seemed like there was nothing more to life that two dozen camels, a few people and some tents.
